With locations in Laie and Kahuku, Seven Brothers is an artisan burger joint that specializes in large, hearty burgers of all kinds. The Laie location focuses on burgers while the Kahuku location has ahi steaks and shrimp.
Lei-Lei’s Bar and Grill

Lei-Lei’s is a delicious steakhouse right on the edge of Turtle Bay’s Arnold Palmer golf course. They have a delicious lunch and dinner menu and is a must visit. A little on the pricey side.
Angel’s Ice Cream

Angel’s Ice Cream is a staple of Laie, and so is Angel herself. Many say it is the best shave ice on the island, and it is. Michelle Obama agrees. (Tell the employees that gremblo sent you.)
Tamura’s Poke

If you don’t like sushi or raw fish, you’re wrong. And if you don’t know what a poke bowl is, it’s basically cubed or sliced raw fish in a bowl with rice and other toppings. Tamura’s is a great place to start. Located in Hauula, next to Longs.
Ken’s Fresh Fish

Ken’s Fresh Fish speaks for itself. Their staple item is the breaded ahi steak with rice and a delicious sauce to top it off. They live up to the name, the fish is always fresh. And they also have poke, and it’s good. Located in Laie, just past the bridge.
Papi’s Tacos

Papi’s Tacos is a delicious food “truck” (its more of a shack) that specializes in authentic Mexican food. They’ve got burritos, quesadillas, and of course tacos. It’s not too expensive, either. Located in Kahuku.
Taqueria El Gallo Rosa

Taqueria El Gallo Rosa might be the best Mexican food on the island. It’s small, relaxed, and you’ll be going up order again and again. Located in Kailua.
Jade Dynasty Seafood

Jade Dynasty is a popular dim sum restaurant on the top floor of Ala Moana mall. The decor is overwhelmingly baroque in a Chinese style, in a good way of course. If you haven’t had dim sum, this is a good place to start. It is definitely an experience (try the chicken feet).
Goma Tei

Goma Tei is a pretty good ramen restaurant, although claiming any ramen place is good carries with it some controversy. There is a wide variety of dishes and the decor is relaxing and beautiful.
Itchy Butt

Itchy Butt is a hole in the wall spot in the middle of Honolulu. There’s not much around it (besides a Masonic temple of all things) and can honestly get a little sketchy. But the food is worth a stop: their signature dish is a fried chicken bowl with rice and a sauce topping.
Da Bald Guy

Da Bald Guy is one of the tastiest food trucks in Kahuku. Specializing in local style food, this is one you can’t miss. Located in Kahuku.
Waihole Poi Factory

Waihole Poi Factory is a popular local spot thats all about local food. Everything that people eat at potlucks in Hawaii, you’ll find here. There’s all kinds of Hawaiian food, so if you’re looking for an authentic experience, look here. And the dessert is delicious.
Elephant Thai Truck

The Elephant Thai truck is the North Shore’s most popular Thai joint. There really isn’t a bad thing on the menu, and for the thrill-seekers they have a “Thai spicy” heat option. Located in Sunset, next to the gas station and Banzai Bowls.
Hukilau Cafe

Hukilau Cafe is a famous breakfast spot in Laie. It’s got huge portions with flavor to match. Get there early—there’s usually a line. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

Ted’s Bakery is home to the world famous Haupia Pie, and it’s world famous for a reason. They’ve also got all kinds of breakfast and lunch meals, but their baked goods are hard to top. Located in Sunset.
